Our Former Ladies
Over the years we have had several lovely ladies join our broodmare band- whether for a long while or only a brief stay. These mares were chosen for the special attributes they could bring to our program. A few have since retired from broodmare duty to age gracefully in green pastures. A few more have returned to the ring to continue a riding career. And a few have passed onto greener pastures though we see their legacy in the foals they gave us. Each one was special in her own way.

Wega is an incredibly kind mare that was a consistent producer of top hunter prospects. She had 3 beautiful fillies for us at North Hill Farm and has retired to the warmer climate of Georgia. We have retained her daughter Rue La La NHF for our breeding program.
Thank you to our friends Jim and Michelle Bassett for giving us the opportunity to own this special mare!

Belle came to us after a long and successful career in the hunter ring. She was champion or reserve in nearly every horse show she entered including taking home the championship at Zone II Finals with her adult amateur owner. She spent a few years in Virginia having pony foals before coming to NHF. She has retired and currently lives down the road with another retired TB show hunter.

Overnight Call NHF by Cunningham
Contraband NHF by Cabalito
Perpetua NHF
2009 Oldenburg mare

Perpetua was our very first homebred and also the first to give us a second generation foal. She also was our introduction to Hunter Breeding and made us proud by placing in USEF's Top 10 in her division as a 2yo.
She has retired from breeding duty at NHF and spends her days with her adult amateur owner in Florida.

Margarita is a big mare with an even bigger personality. She is a dressage horse turned show hunter turned broodmare that is now back in the show ring as a school horse at Cazenovia College. She is an impressive mover with an unflappable temperament.

Kate was one in a million. She was a kind mare with a heart of gold. Kate began her career in Europe jumping at the national level prior to import. In the US she shows in everything from the Adult Amateurs to the Regular Working Hunters and won ribbons at every major show on the east coast.
We are very lucky to have had the opportunity to lease such a wonderful mare. Kate now romps in greener pastures but leaves behind 4 incredible foals.
