| Our History North Hill Farm was founded in 2007 by George & Maggie Neider with the first foals hitting the ground in 2008. However, both George and Maggie brought prior breeding experience to the partnership. Maggie has been involved with horses for over 20 years. Her riding career has been primarily on the Hunter/Jumper circuit and she has competed all over Central NY and also in Wellington, FL. Growing up, she was a member of the Syracuse PHA. In college, she was a member of the St. Lawrence University equestrian team. Maggie also has several years of experience with the Limestone Creek Hunt Club. She was the manager of the staff barn for 6 years and also a whipper~in under former huntsman Anne Adams. Maggie spent 6 years working part-time under Dr. Kelly Foltman at Willowind Farm Equine Services. She is now a full time horse breeder and mother to their son, Alex and daughter, Josie. She also assists with the Equine Reproduction classes at Cazenovia College. George has owned horses for over 15 years. Although his experience prior to starting up North Hill Farm had mostly been with trail riding, he had also raised a few foals of his own that grew up to be extremely friendly, people loving, and willing. Much of what makes George great with horses is his experience with the dairy calves on the farm. They have taught him how to be gentle yet firm and his naturally calm nature encourages trust in our foals. George also brings to our program his love for horses, complete support, and desire to learn. Not to mention he knows how to make great horse hay! Our Goals At North Hill Farm, our goal is to produce true A-circuit hunter prospects. We strive for the whole package...conformationally correct foals with hack winning movement and a great jump and also a temperament that can be taken into the ring by either the professional or amateur rider. We strive to give our foals daily handling, teaching them the basics early in life and setting them up to be people oriented and eager to please. We have carefully selected just a few very special broodmares to keep our program manageable with just the two of us. We are hands on and involved in every aspect of our horses daily care. |
